About

I was born in Brazil, descended from Japanese immigrants, and I have lived for many years in Western Europe and in the United States, where I am currently based. The cultural values and aesthetics of these different regions, combined with my professional scientific training, strongly influenced my artistic approach. I am therefore driven to investigate what is common amongst all peoples, hidden just below the surface appearances, and what connects us with each other and with the world around us. This includes our relationship with the scientific advancements and technological innovations such as social media and AI that are fast transforming our world.
